LucidGuide ("we", "our", or "the app") is an iOS app for dream journaling and lucid dreaming practice. This policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled.
Summary
- LucidGuide does not require an account.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not run third-party advertising or analytics in the app.
- Your dream journal and practice data stay on your device.
Information you provide
When you use LucidGuide, you may create:
- Dream journal entries (text, tags, clarity, techniques, lucid markers)
- Voice recordings for dream capture (processed into text on your device when available)
- Reality-check logs and WBTB alarm settings
- Dream map locations and connections
This information is stored locally on your iPhone using on-device storage (SwiftData). We do not receive or store this content on our servers.
Device permissions
- Microphone — used only when you choose voice capture for a dream entry.
- Speech Recognition — used to transcribe your voice into text on-device when available.
- Notifications — used for reality-check reminders and WBTB alarm sessions you schedule.
Widget data
The optional Dream Streak widget reads aggregated stats (such as streak and lucid rate) from a shared App Group container on your device so it can display progress. This data is not sent to us.
What we do not collect
LucidGuide does not collect:
- Account credentials (no sign-in)
- Location from GPS
- HealthKit data
- Contacts, photos, or browsing history
- Advertising identifiers for tracking
Data sharing
We do not share your personal information with third parties. Because your content remains on your device, deleting the app removes locally stored data unless you have a separate device backup.
Children
LucidGuide is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Medical disclaimer
LucidGuide is not a medical device and does not diagnose sleep disorders or clinically identify sleep stages. Use nighttime awakenings responsibly and consult a healthcare professional if you have sleep-related health concerns.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version.
